Pantry to Pan

Terms of service

Last updated [DATE]

DRAFT for review by a lawyer before launch. The highlighted parts are placeholders and choices to confirm. The section on automatic renewal and free trials is the one most affected by state law; have it checked specifically.

These terms are an agreement between you and [BUSINESS NAME] (“Pantry to Pan”, “we”) for using the Pantry to Pan app and website. By creating an account or using Pantry to Pan, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

1. Your account

You must be at least 13, or older where your local law requires. Keep your sign-in links and codes to yourself. You're responsible for what happens in your account. A “kitchen” (household) can have several members, who all share its recipes, plan, pantry and shopping list. The person who pays for a kitchen's plan pays for everyone in it.

2. Plans, allowances and fair use

Pantry to Pan has a free plan and paid plans, Plus and Pro. Each plan includes monthly allowances for AI-powered features: new recipe imports, polished cook plans and receipt reads. The current numbers are shown in the app and on our pricing page.

3. Subscriptions, automatic renewal and free trials

Automatic renewal. Paid plans are subscriptions. They renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly), at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. We'll tell you before any price change, and the change applies only from your next period.

Free trial. New kitchens can try a paid plan free for [14] days. A card is needed to start the trial, and you'll be charged automatically when it ends unless you cancel before then. The checkout page and the app show the date of the first charge. We remind you about 3 days before it. One free trial per kitchen.

Cancelling. Cancel any time in the app: Settings → Manage subscription. Cancelling stops future charges, and you keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for, then move to the free plan. Deleting your account also cancels your subscription.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices include or exclude sales tax as shown at checkout; where we're required to collect tax, it's added at checkout. If a payment fails, we'll ask you to update your card, and your plan may move to the free plan if it isn't fixed.

Refunds are covered by our refund policy.

4. Your content

Your recipes, notes, photos and lists stay yours. You give us permission to store, process and display them to run Pantry to Pan for you and for the people you share with. That includes sending them to the services listed in our privacy policy for things like reading a receipt.

When you import a recipe from someone else's public post or website, it's for your own personal cooking. Respect the original creator: Pantry to Pan keeps a link back to the source. Don't use Pantry to Pan to republish other people's work. If you believe content in Pantry to Pan infringes your copyright, email [CONTACT EMAIL] with the details, and we'll remove it where appropriate.

Tips and recipes you share with others must not be unlawful, hateful or harassing. We may remove content, or suspend accounts that break these terms.

5. Food, health and safety

Pantry to Pan is a kitchen helper, not a safety guarantee.

6. The service

We work to keep Pantry to Pan running and your data safe, but the service is provided “as is”. We don't promise it will always be available or free of errors, and features may change. If we ever shut Pantry to Pan down, we'll give at least [30] days' notice, so you can download your data, and we'll refund any prepaid time you couldn't use.

7. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing here limits rights you have that can't be limited by law. [Lawyer to review this section.]

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you first and give you time to download your data.

9. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of [the Commonwealth of Massachusetts]. [Lawyer: dispute resolution, venue, and any consumer-law carve-outs.]

10. Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Pantry to Pan after that means you accept the new terms.
